Climb aboard a bright yellow research submarine from the Nautical Exploration and Marine Observation Institute (N.E.M.O.) and set off on a whimsical underwater expedition inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Finding Nemo.

• An Ocean of Adventure – Peek through your porthole to discover scuba divers, glittering coral reefs, and artifacts from an ancient civilization resting on the seafloor.

• Familiar Fins – Soon, Nemo and Squirt swim into view, with Marlin and Dory in hot pursuit. Along the way, encounter Bruce the Shark, Mr. Ray, Gill, Bubbles, Peach, Crush, and more—thanks to special “sonar hydrophones,” you can even hear what everyone’s saying!

• A Different View Each Time – Depending on your seat, you may spot Nemo or his friends when others can’t. Don’t worry—everyone enjoys the full story as the voyage unfolds.

If you’re unable to climb down the narrow steps into the submarine, head to the Observation Outpost at the end of the dock. Here, a N.E.M.O. Institute guide shares a high-definition live-feed version of the adventure via onboard “SubCam.”

⚓ Submerge into History

• The original Submarine Voyage debuted on June 14, 1959, as one of Disneyland’s very first “E-Ticket” attractions.

• Inspired by the real-life USS Nautilus—the first nuclear-powered submarine—and the legendary vessel from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, the attraction thrilled guests for nearly 40 years before closing in 1998.

• In 2007, the submarines returned, transformed with the colorful world of Finding Nemo—still navigating the original lagoon in the very same fleet of subs.
